Permanent tribute to biker

There is to be a permanent tribute to John Hughes, the Port Erin man killed in a road accident on the Ballamodha Straight last November.

The 47 year-old painter and decorator lost his life eleven months ago and yesterday Foxdale woman Patricia Power was convicted of driving without due care and attention, for her involvement in the incident.

Mr Hughes was an active member of the Moddey Dhoo Motorcycle Club and his memorial will be at the Joey Dunlop Foundation Lodge, the construction of which is due to begin next April.

Club spokesman Andy Scullard (pictured) says the club wants to remember a real friend and character:
