by isleofman.com 2nd November 2007
Douglas Town Band will continue to mark its 120th anniversary year with two events later this month.

The band will be hosting a celebration dinner at the Empress Hotel on November 9, with entertainment from Plan B.

Members will then embark on an intensive week of preparation with their musical advisor, Gordon Higginbottom, ahead of the annual gala concert at the Villa Marina, on November 18.

The gala concert will be staged 120 years to the week after the band was formed, with permission from the then Douglas Town Commissioners.
