IRIS investigation long overdue - MHK

The MHK for Michael says it's time there was proper scrutiny of the millions of pounds spent by government.

David Cannan is calling on Tynwald's spending watchdog, the Public Accounts Committee, to investigate all matters relating to the IRIS project.

This includes the design, construction and operation of the multi-million pound sewerage scheme and the management of the Meary Veg treatment plant in Santon.

Mr Cannan (pictured) says the committee was set up more than 20 years ago to scrutinise expenditure of taxpayers' money, and an inspection of the millions spent on IRIS is long overdue:
