Colby too strong for Onchan

by isleofman.com 3rd November 2007
Colby made it 12 wins out of 12 at the summit of CFS Division Two on Saturday.

They defeated Onchan 7-3 at home with three regular marksmen all finding the net.

Josh Kelly led the way with a hat-trick and there were doubles for James Cain and Furo Davies.

Geoff Whitley (two) and Mark Wolfenden were the Onchan scorers.

Second placed Michael overcame a tricky test to win 3-0 at Malew.

And it was two penalties from player-manager Nick Hurt, as well as a goal from Michael Shimmin, which secured victory.

Pulrose were given a battle by Jurby but braces from Dave Skillen, Barry English and Jamie Devereau saw them emerge 6-1 victors.

Ronaldsway showed southern pride to earn a surprise point in a 4-4 derby draw at Castletown.

Steven Wade (two), Ashley Sansbury and Chris Jones were the Town scorers.

Bottom club Douglas and District pushed Marown all the way before going down to defeat.

Johnny Barton (two) and Jamie Joughin were the Marown scorers in a 3-2 victory.

But D&D, for whom James McIlhagga and Richard Brant found the net, can take heart from their display.

In the division’s remaining game, Braddan edged out Foxdale 2-1 at home.
