George Halliday 104 today!

A Douglas resident is celebrating a birthday to remember today (Saturday).

George Halliday, a resident at Saddle Mews care home in Douglas, is 104 years old.

He’ll mark the occasion with a birthday party with daughter Dorothy, who livers here, family and friends at the home.

Born in New Brighton in Wallsey, Mr Halliday was an electrical installation inspector and moved to the Island with his family when he retired.

He has five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and has no doubt what's been the biggest change in his lifetime (audio file attached):
