Bonfires tonight

by isleofman.com 5th November 2007
The recent trend for organised bonfires and firework displays is continuing, with a number of local authorities holding events this evening.

As usual members of the public are being advised to attend the official gatherings, all of which comply with strict health and safety guidelines.

Among other places, there will be fireworks and bonfires at Peel, Laxey and Port Erin, while in Ramsey the entertainment will be in the Mooragh Park.

Ramsey Commissioners spokesman John Donnelly says the location was carefully chosen: (audio clip)

The bonfire and firework display on Douglas beach, re-introduced in 2006 after a gap of many years, will be held on Saturday.
