Port Erin bonfire change

by isleofman.com 5th November 2007
Tonight's public bonfire at Port Erin has been called off - but the fireworks ARE still going ahead..

Commissioners say the decision to abandon the fire has been taken on health and safety grounds - due to very strong inshore winds expected this evening.

At this stage the fireworks display is still going ahead - but may have to be reduced due to the winds.

It's due to begin at 7.30pm and the best Guy Fawkes competition will go on as planned at the Cosy Nook cafe.
