Braidwood vindicated over Windy Corner

A former transport minister has defended the decision to spend ?246,000 on improvements to Windy Corner.

In the House of Keys Phil Braidwood asked his successor, David Anderson, if the capital cost had been worthwhile, and whether it had led to a reduction in accidents.

The department has confirmed Windy Corner is a much safer place to drive round, since the scheme was completed 18 months ago.

Despite its critics, Mr Braidwood (pictured) believes he was right to progress the scheme:
