An Island man left fighting for his life after an attack in Preston has transferred to a different hospital to undergo rehabilitation.

Twenty-six year-old Alex Messenger was assaulted in the early hours of September 29.

He was in a critical but stable condition for several weeks at the Royal Preston Hospital, but has been moved to Chorley Hospital.

Lancashire Police are continuing their inquiries, and three men remain on bail in connection with the incident.
