IOM well placed in Islands poll

The Isle of Man has been named one of the best Islands in the world by National Geographic Traveller magazine.

It came joint 25th in a list of 111 islands and was given a rating of 73 per cent beating, among many others, Maui, Cyprus, Jersey and Guernsey and the Madeira Islands.

Marks were awarded for culture, environment and way of life.

Chief Minister Tony Brown (pictured) is not surprised by the high placing and says he would always put the Isle of Man top:
