Manx Telecom has been awarded the highly coveted ISO 27001 security certification for another three years.
The company is one of only three in the Island to hold the certification, with just 363 certified throughout the UK.
As well as benefiting Manx Telecom’s existing clients, it helps make the Island the location of choice for businesses that depend on systems with state-of-the-art information security - from banks to dedicated e-businesses.
Chris Hall (pictured), managing director at Manx Telecom, said: ‘We were the first company in the Island to be awarded this certification three years ago, and we believe we have the widest ranging scope under it.
‘As has been highlighted only too clearly in the news recently, information security is something everyone is rightly concerned about.’
The audit was carried out by LRQA: part of the Lloyds Register Group.
The certification covers all MT’s technical services and systems, from hosting to support infrastructure - service operations, fixed and mobile networks, IP networks including managed data centre facilities, business systems provision and repair services, access network, strategic network development, and power and estate management.
