New fibre optic company to report to MEA Board.

The detail of how the MEA subsidiary, that will operate the fibre optic cable under the Irish Sea has been spelled out.

MD of " E-LLan Communications" will be MEA CEO, Ashton Lewis and he will report to the MEA Board.

The decision to keep the running of the cable "within government" was taken after considering seven possible candidates, including the massive Boeing Corporation, who were front runners for some time.

The MEA's outgoing chair is Eddie Teare MHK:
