Bell pleased with progress in 2007

The Treasury Minister believes the American Government's opinion of the Isle of Man is slowly being changed.

But Allan Bell says there is still much work to be done.

Mr Bell and Chief Minister Tony Brown paid a trip to Washington DC in November, to meet politicians and regulators with the aim of convincing them the Island is a well-regulated offshore financial centre.

Mr Bell (pictured) is pleased with the progress made in 2007, but says the small matter of a presidential election there next year will present a new challenge (audio file attached):
