A prominent trade unionist thinks a lack of younger people in such organisations could be down to a general level of contentment and the strength of the Island's economy.
Bernard Moffatt (pictured) says other than the so-called 'grey hairs', not many people have lived through economic troughs or times of high unemployment.
He feels this extends to other areas of Manx society and cites Treasury Minister Allan Bell's recent comment that few in Manx politics had experienced a recession as an example (audio file attached):
