by isleofman.com 11th February 2008

25 Strand Cleaners operatives have been presented with their British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) certificates of proficiency by Trade and Industry Minister David Cretney MHK.

At the awards lunch at the Sefton Hotel, Strand Cleaners managing director John Hellowell (pictured) said: ‘Strand Cleaners is the Island’s only corporate cleaning service provider licensed by the British Institute of Cleaning Science and is also the only cleaning contractors in the Isle of Man with its own BICSc-approved training centre.’

Sales and marketing manager Andrew Simpson said: ‘The BICSc qualification is internationally recognised. We’re committed to delivering the highest level of service to our customers and developing the proficiency of our people, so we welcome the institute’s rigorously audited training programme, the chemically competent module of which is essential for the health and safety of our clients and our operatives.’

Presenting the awards Mr Cretney ( pictured) said: ‘These awards confirm Strand Cleaners’ commitment to their continuing high standards of training and customer care. These awards also strengthen Strand Cleaners’ core business values, one of which states “we celebrate success and recognise and reward the achievement of our individuals and teams”.’
