Fairtrade Fortnight continues

by isleofman.com 29th February 2008
Fairtrade Fortnight continues in the Isle of Man with a special shop in Douglas town centre tomorrow.

Situated on the corner of Regent Street, it will be open from 10am to 4pm.

In February last year, Tynwald passed a resolution supporting Fairtrade, and in March all departments were asked to use Fairtrade tea and coffee.

Last month Chief Minister Tony Brown said he hoped the Island would soon achieve Fairtrade status.

Other Fairtrade initiatives include the launch of Manx branded Fairtrade chocolate by Shakti Man, and the One World Centre's 'Shop to make a difference' campaign.

The Fairtrade message is being promoted in schools and the local media.
