Positive meeting on Ramsey tourism

Let’s take the positives and move forward.

That’s the message from a Ramsey commissioner after a meeting today to discuss ways to compensate the loss of the Manx Electric Railway service this summer.

There is growing concern about how visitors can be attracted to the north after the decision to suspend MER services north of Laxey, on safety grounds.

Traders and commissioners in Ramsey met Tourism Minister Adrian Earnshaw and Chief Executive Carol Glover today.

Commissioner Edwina Carlile, who is also a member of the chamber, says it's time to be positive (audio file attached):
