'Positive' meeting over Ramsey tourism

It’s time to look to the future with optimism.

That’s the belief of the Chairman of Royal Ramsey Chamber of Trade, Chris Blatcher, after a meeting with tourism chiefs to discuss ways to compensate for the loss of the Manx Electric Railway service this summer.

The decision to suspend MER services north of Laxey, on safety grounds, came as a shock to the community and yesterday traders and Ramsey Commissioners met Tourism Minister Adrian Earnshaw and his Chief Executive, Carol Glover.
