Netcetera donation to Junior Achievement

by isleofman.com 5th March 2008
Netcetera, which operates the data centre at the Freeport, has donated ?500 to Junior Achievement Isle of Man.

It comes from a successful campaign in which workconnexions.com, the Island's social media website, was shortlisted for an award in leading trade publication .net magazines' Awards 2007.

Netcetera launched the campaign to raise awareness of web design excellence in the Isle of Man and challenged Island residents to vote for their favourite Manx website. The campaign included a dedicated landing page, and used PR and Facebook to publicise the initiative. As an incentive, Netcetera also pledged a ?500 donation for every Manx website short-listed.

'The Isle of Man is a hub of online innovation, and we felt its successes deserved recognition', said Mike Quayle, Netcetera’s head of sales and marketing who is pictured presenting the cheque. He continued: 'Netcetera is committed to supporting and fostering excellence, and Junior Achievement Isle of Man sees a consistently high standard of innovation each year, so we are happy to give them our support'.

Junior Achievement is a Manx educational charity that forges links between schools, business and industry. For the past 25 years it has been inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy and helping to educate them about enterprise, business and the economics of life.
