Man assaulted juvenile

by isleofman.com 5th March 2008
A 19 year-old man who assaulted a 15 year-old juvenile has been given a four month prison sentence, suspended for two years.

Lee Joseph Cowle, of Barnabeg, Port St Mary appeared before the High Bailiff, Michael Moyle, for sentence.

Cowle attacked the boy, punching him and dragging him to the ground, causing severe bruising.

His advocate said he had apologised personally to his victim, and added that Cowle immediately told police what he had done and was very honest with them.

Mr Moyle said it was a serious assault and the juvenile had been attacked without warning.

He told Cowle as well as punishment he needed assistance, and imposed a supervision order to run concurrently with the suspended prison sentence.
