Diving inquest latest

by isleofman.com 7th March 2008
There has been more criticism of equipment used on a dive in which a 41 year old man died.

Michael Bromsgrove of Liverpool was killed after diving off Port Erin in April two years ago.

Today his inquest has continued at Douglas Courthouse and has heard from Dr Anthony Wray from the UK Health and Safety Executive, who carried out a report into the incident.

He said experiments showed the equipment used by Mr Bromsgrove was susceptible to power supply interruptions.

Yesterday, technologist Dr Alexander Deas said he believed a loose battery connection led to Mr Bromsgrove's oxygen supply being cut off.

Dr Wray is due to demonstrate his experiment this afternoon.
