Former government minister and businessman Terry Groves has been appointed to the Itex board in the Isle of Man, as a non-executive director.
Itex is an IT services group, which supports the largest business user base in the Channel Islands, and is launching a full service division of the company in the Isle of Man over the next two months.
Mr Groves, an MHK in the mid-90s and Minister for Local Government from 1993 to 1996, is a non-executive director of a number of Manx businesses, including Royal Skandia, Cowley Groves and the Pickwicks retail chain, which was recently acquired by Heron and Brearley. He also sat on the board of the IT company XKO Ltd – now 2e2 – for over five years.
He is involved with a number of charities in the Isle of Man and the United Kingdom, notably the Hospice shops company, Share The Care Limited which he chairs, and the Henry Bloom Noble Healthcare Trust, of which he is a trustee.
