Island prepares for British Open

Around 500 8-ball players have entered this Autumn's Isle of Man Festival of Pool.

The event will run from September 26 to October 4 and is being billed as the British Open.

There will be competitions for men, women, under 21s, youths, juniors and teams, plus a category for players with physical handicaps and learning difficulties.

Tourism Minister Adrian Earnshaw (pictured) says the tournament will fill a usually quiet period for the Isle of Man:
