Bad storm tonight

by isleofman.com 11th March 2008
The worst storm of the winter is expected to hit the Isle of Man in the early hours of tomorrow morning, and weathermen at Ronaldsway are predicting fallen trees and some structural damage to buildings.

Debris will be washed onto the roads at places such as Gansey, and Douglas and Castletown promenades, but water levels won't be high enough for flooding in any of the harbour areas.

Weatherman Colin Gartshore says it could be nearly as bad as the big storm in January 2005:

Manx Radio will be broadcasting through the night, with all the latest information from the emergency services, the utilities and government agencies.

Anybody with information for us to broadcast should ring 661368, and those requiring information can call 682682.
