Motorists asked to take alternative routes

Drivers who use the road through Governor's Bridge in Onchan are being urged to work out new routes for their journeys, when the roundabout closes for five weeks later this month.

Major road works have to be completed in time for the TT, and the closure of the junction is seen as the most practical way to get the job done.

Instead of using signed diversions, the Department of Transport is asking motorists to use a variety of different routes to by-pass Governor's Bridge, from Douglas, Laxey and the Mountain.
