Age Concern support van for Parish Walk

by isleofman.com 12th March 2008
Support Age Concern in this year’s Clerical Medical Parish Walk and Age Concern will support you!

Anyone choosing to raise funds for the charity in the event can benefit from its support vehicle and crew.

It’s an offer certain to be taken up by Trade and Industry Minister David Cretney, as he has pledged to enter the challenge to raise funds for the charity.

James Davis reports (text, below, from attached audio file):

Walkers will be able to get changed in the van, leave their bags inside and the team will also follow the walkers or arrange to be at a specific point on the route.

The vehicle will be equipped with water, bananas, blister treatments and whatever they need, as well as a fully qualified personal trainer and sports masseur/therapist.

If there’s demand, additional vehicles will be arranged.

Age Concern is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year and hopes to raise ?1.5 million to fund a new centre to help meet the needs of its increasing number of clients.
