Chamber breaths sigh of relief

News the Manx Electric Railway will operate to Ramsey this year has been welcomed by the town’s Chamber of Trade.

Tynwald this week approved a scheme which will enable the Laxey to Ramsey part of the track to re-open from July, less than a month after it was announced the service would be suspended for the summer season on safety grounds.

Chairman of Royal Ramsey Chamber of Trade Chris Batcher says it’s good news all round, and discussions with the department for other attractions are ongoing (audio file attached):
