by isleofman.com 17th March 2008
The British Computer Society will be hoping to discuss the inside story on the Next Generation Network on Thursday.

The customer services director and chief technology officer at Manx Telecom, Mike Loundes, will be speaking on 'the Next Generation Network roll out' at the Claremont Hotel in Douglas at six thirty.

The Next Generation Network is largest ever project undertaken by Manx Telecom and Mr Loundes will discuss the project, the challenges and the benefits of bringing to the Island the very latest in telecommunications network technology.

Tony Verrall, BCS IOM chairman, said ‘the removal of fixed and mobile broadband networks at Manx Telecom is such a significant change and the talk should help to broaden understanding for all.’

Fellow Manx Telecom employees Mike Readshaw and Clive Bayliss will also be attending and will be on hand to answer questions.

The event is free of charge and open to all members of the public.
