Linda Watts, prosecuting, said police attended a flat on Circular Road in Douglas at 11.05pm on May 25th last year following reports that a woman was unwell.
The woman in question was Curtis's sister who had been given two tablets by him. She was taken to hospital where she did not wake up until the following afternoon.
Others in the flat had also been given pills, and a search found a total of 149 tablets in the flat, and cannabis with a street value of ?211.
The defendant's advocate called it a "dangerous and tragic situation" but not as tragic as it might have been. Curtis was extremely sorry and remorseful for what happened that evening and his remorse was genuine.
Deemster Doyle said the aggravating fact was Curtis being involved in supplying tablets.
He said drugs on the Island posed an exceptional threat and people caught - 'and they would be caught' - would be given severe sentences.
