PDMS Southern Nomads lost a hard-fought Cheshire Plate semi-final to Crewe and Nantwich on Saturday.

The experience of the North West Division Two side showed with a try almost immediately from the kick off, which gave the visitors the wake-up call they needed to step up to the mark with some ferocious defensive work for the remainder of the afternoon.

While the Nomads pack matched the host side in the set pieces the Crewe backs, in particular their fly half, dictated the game superbly with their share of possession.

With the score standing at 17–0 at the turnaround the second half brought greater focus to the Nomads attack but they failed to put any points on the board and a late rush of tries resulted in it finishing 43-0.

The whole afternoon showed great resilience from the Nomads with noteworthy performances, as ever, from Rob Keelan and James Hammal, who worked hard to trouble the hosts for the full 80 minutes.

Michael Butler impressed on his debut from the bench showing promise of a great Nomads future ahead.

Man of the match for the men in green went to Ali Kelly following momentous work both in defence and attack.
