Legislative Council election today

by isleofman.com 18th March 2008
Members of the House of Keys will try for a second time to fill the remaining vacant seat on the Legislative Council today.

There are three contenders, broadcaster David Callister; former MHK and MLC Pamela Crowe, who is attempting to regain her seat; and former international businessman Dick Horsnall.

A fortnight ago Mr Callister narrowly missed out on a seat, polling two votes short of the 13 needed. Mrs Crowe and Mr Horsnall got nine each.

Four seats were up for grabs, three of which were filled by members whose five year terms had come to an end. They were Clare Christian, Eddie Lowey and Juan Turner.
