Broadcaster David Callister (pictured) has missed out on a seat on the Legislative Council by a single vote.
In today's second poll in the House of Keys he received the backing of twelve members, one more than in the first ballot a fortnight ago, but still one short of the 13 needed.
Second today was former MHK and MLC Pamela Crowe with nine, the same number as she got last time.
Former international businessman Dick Horsnall, who was level with Mrs Crowe last time, polled only two votes this morning.
A third ballot has been called, with nominations closing at 5pm on Thursday.
The vote will be at the sitting of the House of Keys three weeks today, on April 8.
