Stockcar man wants to sell business

In the year stockcar racing at Onchan Stadium celebrates its 40th anniversary, the company which has operated it for nearly half of that time is up for sale.

Onchan Raceway Ltd. holds stockcar and other events at the stadium, including showjumping and stunt shows.

However, owner John Whitehead, has put the business up for sale because he hopes to take part in a round the world yacht race in November.

Mr Whitehead, who believes the stockcars attract one of the largest group of spectators in the Island outside of motorcycling events, says it’s an opportunity he wants to pursue (audio file attached):
