Jersey coping with abuse investigation

A leading journalist in Jersey says it's the responsibility of everyone to look after children in small communities.

BBC Radio Jersey's Assistant Editor Matthew Price has been speaking to Manx Radio following the allegations of abuse at former children's home Haut de la Garenne and the subsequent media feeding frenzy

The murder of Samantha Barton in 2002, while she was in the care of our own Social Services led to similarly negative international coverage for the Isle of Man.

It also led to and a long and expensive inquiry into care provisions here.

Mr Price says claims of a cover-up on the Channel Island don't surprise him:
