Bad weather threatens more sailings

by isleofman.com 19th March 2008
Gales forecast for the Irish Sea tomorrow and Friday could lead to travel chaos over the Easter weekend.

They have already caused the cancellation of some fast craft sailings to Liverpool, and others could be affected.

Tomorrow's 3pm service to Liverpool is scheduled to sail, but could be delayed or cancelled, and the same applies to the 7pm return.

But tomorrow night's Isle of Man to Liverpool sailing and Friday's 2am return have already been called off due to the potential storms.

All services to and from Heysham are presently expected to go.

Edward Oldham has more (text, below, from attached audio file):

Friday's other Liverpool services, the 7.30am outward and 11.15am inward, are currently scheduled to go but again this could change depending on the weather.

Meanwhile, Friday afternoon's sailing to Dublin and the evening return have been cancelled.

Tomorrow's services to and from Belfast are expected to sail so you should transfer to them if you still wish to travel.

There's also the option of waiting until Monday's Dublin sailings if they're convenient for you.

The Steam Packet tells us further updates will be issued as and when available, but you can call their reservations centre on 661661 or 0871 2221333 for more information.
