Celtic Youth Festival this weekend

by isleofman.com 21st March 2008
Young singers and players from around the Island and beyond, are keeping our musical traditions alive in Ramsey this weekend.

The town's hosting this year's Shennaghys Jiu Celtic Youth Festival, with local performers welcoming visiting bands from Scotland and Newcastle.

There is a full programme of gigs at venues in Ramsey, Peel and Lonan - some are free - and the event goes on until Monday evening.

Anne Craine (pictured) is chair of the Manx Heritage Foundation.

Speaking at the launch she said the festival is a great event all round (audio file attached):

(More information and a full programme is available at shennaghys.org).
