Another candidate has come forward to contest one of the six seats available in the ward of North Ramsey.
John McDonough has lived in the town for 29 years and says he is representative of a good proportion of the population, in having a young family, commuting to Douglas to work and having concerns for the town, its future and its residents, both young and old.
Among his pledges, he wants to attract greater investment from government and industry, to create more facilities for the town's youngsters. He is also opposed to Gardener Lane being the location for the civic amenity site.
He joins Liberal Vannin candidate Nigel Malpass, who failed to get into the House of Keys at the 2006 General Election.
