Drug and Alcohol strategy defended

The Drug and Alcohol Strategy Co-ordinator has hit back at what she feels are unfounded claims in the media about alcohol misuse here.

Margaret O'Reilly says their statistics show binge drinking isn't as widespread a problem here as it is in the UK and, that contrary to reports, the strategy is working.

She says there can be no quick fix but adds that much is being done to educate children about the dangers of excessive drinking (audio file attached):
