'Serious incident' as police close road

Scaffolding and tents have been put up at the scene of what is simply being described as 'a serious incident' in the Clifton Terrace area of Broadway in Douglas this morning (Wednesday).

The nearby Glen gardens have also been cordoned off in connection with the incident.

Police have issued the following statement:

The Isle of Man Constabulary are investigating an incident which has occurred in Clifton Terrace. As a result of the incident Ballaquayle Road from its junction with Victoria Road to Marathon Road is closed. At this time the Police are not releasing any further information. Further information will be released when possible.
