The Chief Minister has ordered a top-level working group to ensure there are 'clear lines of responsibility and communication' in relation to the TT.

It's been set up in response to the heavy criticism of the event's organisation by Coroner of Inquests Michael Moyle in his report into the fatal 26th Milestone accident.

Tony Brown says Mr Moyle's inquiry into this tragedy has raised a number of issues which have to be taken very seriously, nonwithstanding the fact some changes have already been made.

He says given the importance of public safety, and the importance of the TT Races, it's essential the Government addresses these matters in a co-ordinated way to make sure that we have the right structures, training and precautions in place for the future.

The group, which held its first meeting today (Wednesday), is headed by the Chief Minister and includes the Ministers and Chief Executives of the three relevant departments – Tourism and Leisure, Transport and Home Affairs.

Mr Brown has also confirmed the Department of Tourism and Leisure is the department responsible for the TT Races.
