The Ben-my-Chree will be out of service for a fortnight from the start of April as she undergoes her compulsory biennial overhaul and dry docking.
The Steam Packet Company has chartered a freight vessel called the Triumph (pictured) which has been in Douglas Bay over the last few days, to cover the Ben's freight duties during the period.
The Viking fast craft will provide additional passenger services to both Heysham and Liverpool while the Ben is unavailable.
The company says it's taken steps to contact all passengers whose sailings are affected by the overhaul. They say there shouldn't be any need for anyone to get in touch with them about this, though Manx Radio has been contacted by some passengers who say they have yet to be advised of any changes.
