Infant treatments withdrawn

Some cough medicines for very young children have been withdrawn from sale in the Isle of Man.

The United Kingdom Government's medicines watchdog has issued new guidelines which state some cough and cold treatments should not be used for infants.

As a result six brands have been permanently removed from the shelves.

Secretary of the Island Branch of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Charles Flynn (pictured) says remedies for babies should be very simple:
