Murder inquiry update

The 28 year-old man, whose death in Douglas the early hours of Wednesday sparked a murder investigation was from Port Erin.

A post mortem has confirmed William James Rogers, known as 'Billy Rogers' died from a single stab wound.

He was found in a house in Clifton Terrace on Broadway and later died in hospital.

A 23 year-old man and a 26 year-old woman remain in custody.

Both appeared before the High Bailiff who approved a police request to hold them in custody for a further 36 hours.

The man leading the investigation, Inspector Sid Caine, spoke to Manx Radio at the scene a short time ago (audio file attached):
