As pubs, clubs and other public buildings prepare to enforce the long awaited smoking ban from 4am on Sunday, Douglas Corporation is taking its campaign for clean air to the streets.
Two vehicles have been decked out in new livery, featuring the Island's capital as an ashtray, and the words 'No Butts, Stub it, Bin it'.
It's the first in a series of measures being taken by the Borough Council, in partnership with Smokefree Mann and other organisations, to drive home the anti-smoking message.
Council Leader David Christian says the Town Hall is taking its responsibilities very seriously (audio file attached):
David Christian is standing in Hills Ward in next month's local authority general election.
Details of other candidates are expected to be released by the Town Hall on Monday afternoon, when the period for objections and withdrawals expires.
