Elections for nine local authorities?

by isleofman.com 28th March 2008
It seems there will be elections for nine of the Island’s 24 local authorities next month.

The all-Island election takes place on Thursday, April 24 and, subject to any withdrawals or objections between now and 2pm on Monday, there will be contests in Braddan, Castletown, Douglas, Laxey, Lezayre, Marown, Onchan, Patrick and Ramsey.

However, five authorities will have to re-advertise because not enough candidates have come forward to fill the seats.

They are Bride, Peel, Rushen, Port Erin and Port St Mary.
