Fossil fuels and peak oil talk

Former Local Government and the Environment Minister John Rimington will give a talk on fossil fuels and the implications of ‘peak oil’ on Monday.

The meeting of the Positive Action Group at the Claremont Hotel, Douglas, starts at 7.30pm, is free and open to all.

Roger Tomlinson of the PAG says the Island is reliant on gas and oil for our energy – and both sources are becoming increasingly costly and unreliable.

He says Mr Rimington’s talk will cover the possibilities of the Isle of Man using renewable energy sources (audio file attached):
