Eight Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award winners received their badges at the annual ceremony, hosted by the Lieutenant Governor and Lady Haddacks, at Government House.
Family and friends looked on as presentations were made to Aalish Bennett, James Cochrane, Dane Harker, Steven Slack and Peter Wood from QE2 High School; Victoria MacDonald, from Castle Rushen; Katy Richmond, who attended the Douglas Open Award Centre; and Kirsty Hunt, who registered as an independent participant.
Four other Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award winners were unable to attend the ceremony, namely April Brodie and Chris Prescott, from QE2 High School; Hannah Short, from Castle Rushen; and Robert Matthew Moore, from the Southern Open Awards Centre.
All twelve successful candidates have been invited to another ceremony at St James' Palace in London, for the presentation of certificates.
In the Isle of Man the Department of Education is the operating authority for the awards, which are open to young people in the 14 to 24 age group.
