There will be elections in a third of the Island’s 24 local authority areas next month.
After the deadline for any withdrawals or objections passed at 2pm today, it was confirmed there would be contests in Braddan, Laxey, Lezayre, Marown, Onchan, Patrick and two wards each in Douglas and Ramsey.
However, five authorities will have to re-advertise because not enough candidates came forward to fill the seats.
They are Bride, Peel, Rushen, Port Erin and Port St Mary.
The election is on Thursday, April 24.
