Police are appealing for drivers who saw a silver-coloured sports car in the Ballig Bridge section of the TT course on Sunday afternoon to contact them.
Officers say the car was travelling towards Glen Helen and overtook vehicles in the area, narrowly avoiding a head-on collision.
The incident happened at around 4.45pm and officers are eager to talk to anybody who saw the car or were overtaken by it.
