'Electors happy with representatives'

by isleofman.com 1st April 2008
The leader of Douglas Council says he isn't surprised by the fact there will be elections in a third of the Island’s 24 local authorities next month.

David Christian (pictured) was asked if the figures indicated apathy or satisfaction (audio file attached):

The all-Island election takes place on April the 24 and there will be contests in Braddan, Laxey, Lezayre, Marown, Onchan, Patrick and two wards each in Douglas and Ramsey.

However, five authorities will have to re-advertise because not enough candidates have come forward to fill the seats.
